How about awesome dragons in modern literature?

Dragon-based fiction repository

I'm positive I'm not the only one out there that's irritated when I find a fantasy book with a dragon on the cover and dragon in the name that the book really doesn't revolve around dragons at all. In light of this, I thought it might be wise to make a list of fiction/fantasy books that we KNOW are centered around dragons - not those featuring dragons, those about dragons. I'll edit this list as new entries are added.

Repository:

The Inheritance Series
    Eragon
    Eldest
    Brisingr
Fricaya (working title, to be released)

DragonVarld Trilogy (Draconic for "Dragon World")
1. Mistress of Dragons
2. The Dragon's Son
3. Master of Dragons

If, when you suggest a series/book to be added, you include a little synopsis, that would be appreciated. :)
Your opinion on the quality of the book itself is also valuable.

I am the Phase Keeper. The sole being permitted to traverse the void between the corporeal and non-corporeal - the phsyical and the spiritual worlds. Through the act of "phasing," I can change my visibility and tangibility at will, and through the manipulation of matter, my size.

It's okay. A lot of mortals don't understand it.

If you want my opinion on Brisingr, please vist here!.
As for other dragon-based novels, try the Dragonvarld Trilogy, by Margaret Weis (she wrote a lot of the Dragonlance books with Tracy Hickman).
Dragonvarld does have a very Dragonlancey feel to it, which can only be expected. Dragons are a very reclusive race, and very much leave the world to the humans. Some don't feel that way though, and one dragon secretly rules one of the human nations, and attempts to create an army of half-dragons to wrest control of the world for the break-away sect of dragons.

I don't feel I've done the story justice there, as it has been a long time since I've read it, but I assure you, it is a very good read! If you liked Dragonlance, you will love Dragonvarld :D
A common miscoception is that dragons hoard gold. This is half true. Dragons have an unusual sense of value and will actually hoard *anything* they get their claws on. This could be gold coins, or any coins, cds, and other shiny things, through to toys, plushies and oddly shaped leaves, colourful stones and fancy international bottlecaps.

Added.

I doubt anyone could "do the story justice" through a synopsis... it reeks depth and complexity.

P.S. I just now noticed I've already infected your signature... XD

And of course, how could I forget?
The Temeraire Series, by Naomi Novik.

Napoleonic Europe with dragons!
